Every five seconds, someone in the world goes blind. Lions are recognized worldwide for their services to the blind and the visually impaired. This service began when Helen Keller challenged the Lions to be "the knights for the blind in the crusade against darkness." Over 34 million people have had their vision saved, restored, or improved by Lions.
The Oyster Bay Chapter of the Lions Club has served the local community for 72 years. In addition to Guide Dogs for the Blind and America's VetDogs, we support Lions Eye Bank for Long Island and many other local causes.
Our Annual Spring Benefit Journal will include a tribute to the history of the club. You are invited to consider purchasing an advertisement in the Journal or sponsoring part of the event. Please contact us.
